Posted: 14-08-08, 9:38 am The making of a DropShip List
Then I first came across the dropship concept, 2 month ago, I thought it was great - no need to actually leave my laptop to go out and product source (in fact 2 month ago, I had never heard the term 'Product Source' as a verb). Well it became clear that it was more difficult than first expected and lately I found out that my main hope, GemFlare.com, turned out to be a middleman (thanks to DSF I not only became aware that middlemen are roaming the market, but also learned some tricks to identify them).
As part of creating my eCommerce site, I have started working on a dropship list on my intranet, so far with 76 dropship entries (biased towards jewellery). I would like to share the list and expecially I would like to discuss what information is relevant in such a list, how it should be searchable, how it should be presented etc. Additions to the list would also be welcome. However I am not sure to which extent DSF approve a discussion of such an external list, therefore I'll wait disclose the url until I get some guideline on that.

We welcome dropshipper lists, but, as said above only in the Dropshipper Links section.
Join in the discussions on here and you will soon qualify for admission.
Hi there Rasmus, I'm new to the whole drop-shipping scheme; just wanted to ask asside from using Google searching ".......dropshippers, ..........wholesalers, Dropship directories" etc...
And also, once I have compiled a general list, i will contact them, have you gone down the same routes?
Hi Amero, I used google first the same way as you describe it, however after I came across DSF, I instead startet to add mainly dropshippers discussed here. I have also been thinking about buying in to a dropship list, but I think I'll wait until I have some more experience.
You'll have a chance to see the list I have compiled and also to make suggestions to it then we have both qualified for the 20 quality post members area.

So is this the right forum to go searching for advice on how to spot middlemen? I'm new to all this (and to the forums) and want to avoid the guys who aren't genuine dropshippers. Is this the right forum, or do I need one of the other ones?

You have come to the right place Squizl
Welcome, you will find loads of information on here. So much so that it might take a while to go through it.
If you takle a look at the Banner Adds around the forum you will see theu are all adds from dropshippers - genuine dropshipper at that, all good and all respectable dropshippers. If nothing advertised suits, do searches of the type of products you would like to sell (search button at top of page) and you should get some good results

I've only been here a couple of days and learnt much from just going through past posts.
Like Rasmus and others, I've found that weeding out the middlemen from the real d/s sources is a real battle. I look forward to learning more and sharing as I go.
Back to the 'post reading' for now!
I agree, this is a great place to learn and with so much information available, by using the search I have stopped myself from being scamed a couple of times, thankyou everyone

I do not think you will get to see it! this thread is old by about 6 months and the author only reached 11 posts! You need 20 quality posts to be allowed in the links sections as far as i know! He must have gone his own way.

But that wouldn't stop Dondlelinger from getting access if/when the criteria are met.

I was wondering how you qualified to get into that forum. thanks for letting me know how!
To view the posts in that forum you must have 20 quality posts and been a member for 14+ days. Once you have 20 posts then join the dropshipper links group to be considered for access. If you are declined then it means you do not have enough quality posts - make some more and try again.
