Got this far having edited the txt but when i tried to save it as

Save the edited file to [shadow=darkblue]includes/languages/ENGLISH/CUSTOM/index.php [/shadow]and upload it to your server.


I could not see the file named above....i edited it in crimson editor and the uploaded it back to my server but still the txt remained the original "CONGRATS YOU INSTALLED etc etc

any ideas what im doing wrong anyone ?

If you have tried editing the one specific for your template and it didn't work, try the file I mentioned above as that's the default and should change the text. Also there may the welcome text on more than one line if I remember correctly so you may need to change both.

Glad you got that sorted. As you couldn't find the custom folder:

CUSTOM is used for the name of the template you are using, so if you are using the 'darkness' template you would upload to includes/languages/english/darkness.

Always replace CUSTOM for the name of your current template.

Hi Guys

At the top of my site there is a piece that says your slogan goes here and www.yourwebsite here.. and at the very top a telephone number (mock)..............any ideas how i edit these please ?

Where abouts is that as I don't remember seeing that before, anyway if you login to admin - tools - developers tool kit and type the text you need to find, then click on the search button and it will tell you which file the text is located in, usefull when trying to find all/most the text that you need editing.

Sometimes it's easy to complain and not so easy to give praise I guess it's a human nature thing !

Anyhow I would like to offer my thanks to Shane of Interlogy,otherwise known as hostmyshop on here.

Shane basically saved me hours with the editing of my site and was happy to field my daft questions and point me in the right direction....

I would highly reccomend Interlogy and the services they provide..
