Yes lots of updates recently.
Zen had a big push in the past year or so and want to develop the platform a lot further than it is now... one of the main security updates with the pci compliance from credit cards etc and usiing 3d secure is the main feature.

All this is upgraded with 1.3e and f
I havent moved to f yet and im pretty convinced g is just around the corner

This update will have to wait, I still haven't finished upgrading to f on all of my sites yet.

Why can't they just do a one click upgrade ?

Ive just finished building and customising 5 sites with 'F' having tested about 30 mods on them and now they do this to me....

my next step was to move my current two sites across to F but will look at this G now and see what it sorts out, if anything...

Why can't they just do a one click upgrade ?

I can upgrade through installatron, just a couple of clicks. On the sites I've done it on it's worked fine with no problems.

That's great that it does that, but not everyone has installatron in their c-panel.

My c-panel installs 'f' on a clean innstall but doesn't do upgrades.

Has anyone done a fresh install of 'f' and been able to add mods without problems.

I installed 'f' tonight. Installed easy populate 1.2.5.7b which is the one I normally install. Couldn't get it to run. Had an sql error which I couldn't sort so deleted and installed 1.2.5.5. instead.

I've also added ultimate seo urls which I've previously added to numerous sites without any problem but the site is only showing the old php type of urls. All the settings are the same as on my other sites, all the files are there, have been checked numerous times but it doesn't work.

Is it me? Am I just having a bad night or is 'f' to blame?

Off to delete that mod and try again. If it doesn't work will be installing an older version of zen instead, add the mods and then update it. Blooming niusance, should have had it finished by now.

I installed them in that order following a clean build with 1.3.9F, tested each one and backed out where didnt work if I did a mod that didnt work - all the above were working for me at time i last tested - however sites have not yet gone live as i am now testing in LIVE environment not test environment - I cant see there being a problem though at moment.

Thanks Bhuna, good that you didn't have problems with so many mods.

I've been messing around now for so long, messed up something in php my admin so have decided to delete the site and start all over again and with a fresh install of zen and see how I get on this time.

It's so frustrating as normally I would have had the site up and running by now.

This g release has made a right mess of things including product previews, site newsletters and emails that look like gobbledygook. There is no way in the world that g was tested thoroughly before release by people that actually use the cart.

A similar case of problems with mods happened at Open Cart when the developer 'improved' it without consulting the people that use it, there was a bitter dispute on their forum when site mods wouldn't work after upgrading.

Still, it's free so we shouldn't really moan too much.
Although I think that PayPal just might be funding them...

A lot of the upgrades are to do with PayPal integration.
Seems odd that Nochex has disappeared from Zen too

I didn't try 'g' as you mentioned earlier about it being a mess, so thank you very much for that.

I deleted my site and re-installed it and also zen cart. I installed zen 1.3.8 so I would get Nochex and then upgraded to 'f'. I thought it an easier/lazier way to get Nochex installed instead of going through all the updates.

Easy populate installed no problem and I found a later version of the seo urls which work with 1.3.9 so had no problems there either.

The majority of my sales are through Nochex, although that could be down to the way I have the checkout set up. I always feel much safer when a large order comes through and they've paid by Nochex whereas previously when paid by Paypal I often wondered if it was someone going to scam me

Just because it's free doesn't mean to say we can't moan. A moan is good for the soul.

Update...

Just upgraded from g to h and the HTML problems have gone, I can now send out site newsletters and emails again

Just hope nothing else goes wrong.......
