Ferguson & McGregor
I realise there's only a handful of people on here will follow Scottish football but what's your views on the debacle that is the story involving Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor?
For those of you who may have missed it http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/dis ... tland.php# and http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 981287.stm
A couple of half-wits who got what was coming to them or two scapegoats for the media to demonise?
Personally I think they've embarassed themselves, their club and their national team and should be made to face the music but I feel they've been a bit hard done by as there were more than just those two involved. I cant shake the feeling that there's more going on than we know about simply because it seems a very harsh punishment for getting drunk and being childish with the V signs plus the fact they are the only two being punished when some other players were only 20 minutes in front of them in leaving the bar.

I dunno its a difficult one!
I think players go out on the lash all the time and get fined, but I think it was the fact of the petulance the following day that made it so bad!
having gathered international honours myself in a sport its a massive privilege and should be treated with respect, getting lashed is fine and a slap on the wrists probably would of done the trick!
But when representing your country and then making those gestures your actually, disrespecting the manager, the fans, and your country
So i think thats what has made it worse!
