Weirdness in Google Analytics?

Postby Baa » Mon Aug 23, 2010 11:42 am

I've had GA running for a long time but in the past month it's been showing some pretty weird results.

At first I thought it was because I'd upgraded one site but it's showing similar results for a site I have not upgraded.

Basically it's not recording properly on either site, does anyone have any idea why this is happening please? I can't find any answers on the ZC forum.

In what way weird? I ask because I have it installed for a Joomla site and the daily uniques has dropped sharply through GA, whereas AWStats is reporting no such drop.

There's a major drop in the uniques 98% for one. Bounce rate (normally 23-28%) is 11%, conversions 0% whereas normally 5-7% etc, everything is pretty much recording 0.

There's been no similar remarkable data with AWStats and just the sales from the sites prove GA completely wrong.

I have found analytics to be wrong on so many levels recently.

One of the biggest problems seem to be position I a pm'd a member on here who was advertising a site for sale using analytic data which was incorrect.

Sorry baa,

So much flying around my head lately.

Nothing to do with the analytic side of things but in webmaster tools.
