XML feed

Postby bollo » Mon Apr 26, 2010 8:44 am

Is there a way to import an XML (product) feed into Zencart?

I have read plenty about cvs files in combination with EP, but there is no usefull information on how to import an XML feed.

Anybody willing to help out a bit?

You can import an xml feed into Access or Excel I believe and then manipulate it slightly.

It is possible re the xml feed I believe - but you may need to get someone to tweak/program one for you as it could be specific to your particular files/headings etc.

It is indeed possible to import an xml file into Excel.
At least with 2007 version it is possible.

But after that? Just save it to CSV and import it with EP in the Cartsoftware?

You will need to ensure that your headings match what EP uses - best way to do this is to put a dummy product on the cart - download a full EP csv file and then crib the headings from that.

Then when you import the xml into excel or access - work out what columns need what headings. Best thing to do is to do it into Access 2007 and take your time but then save the import :) for future uses then. Use the specs to set the headings etc.
